Canada Biomes
The Major Biomes in Canada are Tundra interfrost and permafrost, tropical semi-arid and boreal semi-arid and humid. The average temperature of a Tundra in Canada is between 12°C in the summer and minus 1°C in the winter, but can drop really low sometimes. Palliser’s triangle (western Canada) is largely semi-arid. Its soil is dark brown/black colour and is very nutrient-rich, however the weather conditions make it difficult to farm. Boreal is moderately warm and moist summers, extremely cold in winter. A hot summer day (mid-July) would be in the low 30°C, an average daytime high is 15°C to 20°C. Overnight in spring and autumn temperatures range from a low of 5°C to daytime highs of 10°C and above. this also goes for the same in April, may September and October. The coldest month of the year is January that has temperatures as low as -20°C. Sometimes throughout the long winter the thermometer can fall to -40°C. At the nations capital the solar insolation is 42°C.
